Tom was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland in 2006 and called to the Queensland Bar in 2019. Before coming to the Bar, he was Special Counsel at DLA Piper Australia and a Senior Associate at McCullough Robertson Lawyers. He also worked at Lovells LLP in London.
Earlier in his career, Tom was Associate to Justice S G Jones AO of the Supreme Court of Queensland and Associate to Senior Member McCabe of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
He holds a Master of Laws from Bond University, and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.
Tom’s commercial practice includes contractual disputes, corporations and insolvency proceedings, banking and financial services litigation, and disputes arising from commercial property transactions. Tom has acted in substantial claims concerning machinery damage and lost profits, allegedly misleading financial statements, engineering negligence and defective building work. His practice also includes insurance disputes and professional liability. Tom also accepts briefs in employment disputes and anti-discrimination matters, including advice and representation.
